Right: This species of Skipper was also seen and photographed yesterday in Sim Park.  Not sure of the species - it doesn't show the dorsal surface of the wings. (Lepidoptera; Hesperiidae)

Left: A Silver-spotted Skipper that apparently had a couple of close calls - note the two chunks that have been taken out of its right hind wing.  Somone thinks this guy looks tasty!  (Lepidoptera: Hesperiidae: Espargyreus clarus).

Right: These flies have been perching on boards of fences and on stones - they seem to prefer to perch head down on vertical surfaces.  This is a small robber fly in the genus Atomosia (probaly Asilidae: Laphriinae: Atomosiini: A. puella).
